Advanced Disposal aims to sell NJ, NY assets

Advanced Disposal Services Inc. (Jacksonville, FL) announced that it hopes to complete the sale of its waste management operations in New Jersey and New York by late summer as part of an agreement between its parent company Highstar Capital (New York, NY) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The sale of the New York and New Jersey operations would resolve DOJ’s antitrust issues arising from Highstar Capital’s bid to acquire Veolia ES Solid Waste Inc. (Milwaukee, WI), the North American solid waste unit of Veolia Environnement (Paris, France). Advanced Disposal did not identify any potential buyers for the assets in question.
