Arif Virani is the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and now serves as Senior Counsel at Torys. Arif is a public law litigator, and advises governments, organizations, businesses and Indigenous leaders. He represented Parkdale—High Park in the House of Commons from 2015 to 2025, and has an extensive track record of government leadership—from policymaking in advancing Canada’s justice system to the co-development of public policy with Indigenous leaders and communities. His range of experience is demonstrated by Parliamentary Secretary appointments to the Departments of International Trade, Justice, Democratic Institutions, Heritage and Immigration, as well as through his work prior to public office as a litigator for the Ontario government and in private practice.
