Golder opens Pennsylvania office to address Marcellus Shale market

Golder Associates Inc. (Atlanta, GA) has opened an office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to serve as a hub for its services to companies engaged in gas exploration and production in the Marcellus Shale gas formation. The new office is being managed by David Breitmayer, a senior business consultant and a veteran of the oil and gas industry. The Pittsburgh office adds to Golder’s 16 locations and more than 200 personnel located in and around the Appalachian Basin. “This is a natural extension of Golder’s capabilities in the region,” Breitmayer said. “Shale developers, regulators, and residents all tell us there is an enormous need for the services that Golder can provide.” The Marcellus Shale gas formation spans approximately 600 miles of the Appalachian Basin, from West Virginia and Ohio through Pennsylvania to New York. According to Golder, analysts predict that the formation could produce up to 250 trillion cubic feet of gas by 2020.
