IHS acquires chemical and energy assets from Access Intelligence

IHS Inc. (Englewood, CO) has acquired assets from the chemical and energy portfolio of business-to-business information company Access Intelligence LLC (Rockville, MD). The assets acquired by IHS consist of the following: SRI Consulting, a market intelligence and analysis firm serving the chemical industry; Chemical Week, an e-subscription journal focused on the chemical, petrochemical, and specialty chemical markets; Harriman Chemsult, a market information and price discovery service for the chlor-alkali and vinyl chain sectors of the chemical industry; The Energy Daily, a daily news and analysis publication serving the energy industry; and various conferences and events. “These complimentary and primarily subscription-based assets consist of globally respected, leading brands that form a core portfolio of research, analysis, information, and intelligence for the growing chemical and energy markets,” said IHS Chairman and CEO Jerre Stead. “This acquisition will help IHS leverage its extensive energy and economic analysis assets within the chemical industry and become a key building block for establishing IHS as a leading chemical industry information provider.”
