EPA Awards $63 Million Grant for Texas Water Quality

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded the Texas Water Development Board a grant of more than $63.5 million to fund clean-water projects in the state. These funds will be used by the state of Texas to provide loans and other types of financial assistance to communities and state agencies for wastewater improvements. The aim will be to help improve water quality in streams, lakes, rivers, and bays, ultimately benefiting aquatic life and sources of drinking water. It can also contribute to improved public health by reducing hazards such as raw sewage discharges.
