Xylem wins Hong Kong plant extension contract

Water equipment and technology provider Xylem, Inc. (White Plains, NY) has received a contract to provide clarification and filtration systems for installation at the Tai Po Water Treatment works in Hong Kong. The contract is part of an ongoing project aimed at doubling the plant’s daily water treatment capacity from 400 million liters to 800 million liters and helping to relieve demand for water from other facilities supplying water to the Kowloon West, Central, and Western districts of Hong Kong. Under the contract, Xylem will supply and install units of its Leopold Clari-DAF dissolved air flotation system and its Leopold Type S under-drain system. Xylem is working with local company ATAL Engineering to coordinate the facility expansion initiative. “Xylem’s Leopold systems were chosen because of their proven efficiency, reliability, and reduced life-cycle costs, as well as Xylem’s local presence and commitment to delivering tailored aftermarket service for customers,” said Barry Lee, an associate director at ATAL Engineering.
