Clearford Water acquires controlling stake in UV Pure

Clearford Water Systems Inc. (Ottawa, Ontario), a provider of water management and sanitation systems, announced that it has acquired a 90.5% interest in UV Pure Technologies Inc. (Toronto, Ontario) for a cash payment of $2.5 million, subject to adjustments upon closing. UV Pure is a manufacturer and distributor of ultraviolet (UV) systems for purifying potable water, grey water, and wastewater. The company has installed more than 14,000 of its Crossfire treatment systems in residential, commercial, industrial, public, and municipal applications. UV Pure generated revenue totaling $2.9 million during the fiscal year ending on May 31, 2014 and has averaged 10% annual growth over the past five years. Clearford has been a distributor of the Crossfire systems in the nation of Columbia and anticipates that the Crossfire technology will work effectively with its own ClearDigest, SBS ClearConvey, and ClearRecover technologies.
