GZA picks up Laurel Oil & Gas

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Norwood, MA) has extended its service offering to the oil and gas industry through the acquisition of Laurel Oil & Gas Corp. (Clarksburg, WV), a provider of consulting and engineering services to companies engaged in the production, storage, and transportation of oil and gas. Laurel Oil & Gas, which was founded by Mark Schumacher, has been in the business for 20 years, operating primarily in the Appalachian Basin and serving local oil and gas companies, large independent operators, and major oil companies. The Laurel operations will report to David Palmerton, Jr., a GZA principal and head of the company’s oil and gas business line. “Mr. Schumacher and Mr. Palmerton enthusiastically view the opportunity to seamlessly integrate the services of both Laurel and GZA to act as one company and to expand the operations as the United States moves towards energy independence,” said William Hadge, GZA’s president and CEO. “Both Laurel and GZA have operated under the belief that success is based on quality individuals providing responsive service to their clients and have built reputations for being among the best in the business.”
