Three firms combine in membrane market
Three companies in the water treatment technology market—Rochem, Sepro Membranes, and APTwater—have combined their membrane offerings into a new, single brand under the name ULTURA Inc. (Long Beach, CA). In announcing the move on February 24, ULTURA CEO John Kaestle said that the combination of these separate membrane lines creates “a new force in high-recovery membrane technology” specializing in the most difficult to treat and valuable water and wastewater streams. Target markets for ULTURA include the following: rare earths and other mining; treatment of the complex “cocktails” from leachate generated at landfills; on-vessel gray/black water treatment and desalination in delicate marine environments; electro-coating from the automotive industry; food and dairy; and advanced process separations in the life sciences.
