United Water renews West Basin contract at $50 million

United Water (Harrington Park, NJ) announced that it has signed an agreement with the West Basin Municipal Water District in California to continue operating the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Plant and four satellite plants for five years. The Edward C. Little facility produces more than 40 million gallons of water per day in multiple grades of quality for a variety of uses, from industrial processes to irrigation to reinjection into the ground as a seawater intrusion barrier. “The renewal of our contract shows the good working relationship between United Water and West Basin and high level of trust we accord each other,” said Bertrand Camus, CEO of United Water. “We have been partners for two decades, working together to conserve and preserve potable water supplies in southern California.” The renewed contract has a value of approximately $50 million to United Water, which is a subsidiary of Paris-based SUEZ Environnement.
