Medical waste firms reach distribution agreement

Medical waste management company Synergy Waste LLC (Dallas, TX) and Waste to Energy Canada Inc. (WTEC; Vancouver, B.C.) have reached an agreement whereby Synergy will distribute WTEC’s medical waste management technology in the United States. Under the agreement, Synergy will purchase a certain minimum volume of equipment incorporating WTEC’s proprietary Bax Oxidation Systems (BOS) technology over a 10-year period and will pursue sales, marketing, and project development opportunities in the United States. In a statement, the companies said that the new partnership is a response to changes in U.S. legislation governing the closure of medical waste incinerators and the need for safer alternatives for thermal processing of hazardous and medical waste in the United States.
