SKM shareholders approve sale to Jacobs

The shareholders of global consulting and engineering firm Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM; Sydney, Australia) have voted in favor of the company’s merger with U.S. engineering and construction firm Jacobs Engineering Group (Pasadena, CA). The deal, which is valued at approximately A$1.3 billion ($1.2 billion U.S.), is still subject to final approval by the Australian Federal Court, which was to conduct a hearing on the deal on December 10. The closing of the deal is expected shortly thereafter, Jacobs said in a release. SKM, which generated $1.2 million U.S. during its most recent fiscal year, has 40 offices in the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
