Atkins to acquire Nuclear Safety Associates

Global design, engineering, and project management consultancy WS Atkins plc (Epsom, U.K.) announced that it has reached an agreement with Nuclear Safety Associates (NSA; Charlotte, NC) under which Atkins will acquire NSA for an undisclosed consideration. NSA is a 130-employee firm providing engineering and technical services to the nuclear power industry. “This acquisition is in line with our strategy to be one of the world’s leading energy consultancies, with the significant U.S. nuclear market an area of focus for us,” Atkins said in a release. “Nuclear Safety Associates will both enhance the capability of the group’s energy business and provide NSA the opportunity to expand its well-established project and client base in the U.S. nuclear market.” The deal is subject to U.S. government approval.
