Degrémont wins four contracts in Africa

Degrémont, a subsidiary of SUEZ Environnement (Paris, France), announced that it has recently received four contracts, with a combined value of about $52.2 million U.S., to build and upgrade water facilities in Africa. Under the largest of the contracts, valued at $36.4 million, Degrémont will upgrade the Kifangondo water treatment plant in Luanda, Angola, for Empresa Pública de Águas de Luanda, a facility that will have the capacity to produce 140,000 cubic meters of drinking water per day. In Tanzania, Degrémont is partnering with the African infrastructure development firm Spencon to build a water treatment plant to serve Musoma City, financed by the Agence Française de Développement. Under the remaining two contracts, Degrémont will upgrade two lines and build a new treatment line for a water treatment plant in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and will serve as a subcontractor on the renovation of an extension to the Legadadi water treatment plant in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
