Capacity added to MWH Baltimore “wet weather” contract

The city of Baltimore, Maryland, has approved a $11.8 million extension of a contract under which MWH Global (Broomfield, CO) is providing wet weather technical and program management services. The new capacity adds to an existing $11.8 million contract, under which MWH, in a joint venture with Louis Berger Water Services (Morristown, NJ), is managing a program designed to implement the requirements of a consent decree between the city and federal and state agencies regarding the control of sanitary sewer overflows. Under that consent decree, the city is undertaking a $1 billion program encompassing “sewer-shed” planning and evaluation, sewer system rehabilitation and modernization, and operations and preventive maintenance improvements.
