Aquatech gains PA permit for water treatment

Aquatech International Corp. (Canonsburg, PA) has received a permit from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) to operate a central wastewater treatment and recycling facility in Tioga County to serve shale gas exploration and production (E&P) companies operating in northeastern Pennsylvania. The facility will use Aquatech’s MoSuite technologies, which includes the MoTreat and MoVap process units, a combination of pretreatment and distillation evaporator systems designed to treat drilling fluids, flowback waters, production brine, and other wastewater generated by shale gas E&P operations. The facility will also have filtration, disinfection, and solids handling capability.
