Aqualyng secures IFC funding for Chinese desal projects
Desalination products and services provider Aqualyng AS (Vanvikan, Norway) has obtained an investment of $12 million from the International Finance Corp. (IFC) to support the construction of several seawater desalination plants in China. Aqualyng is aiming to build desalination plants with a combined of capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per day. The IFC financing is part of a $30 million fund-raising effort by Aqualyng, which has also attracted investments from Pareto Staur Energy and the Clean Resources Asia Growth Fund. With joint-venture partner Beijing Enterprises Water Group, Aqualyng has commissioned the first stage of the Caofeidian desalination plant in Hebei province.
