Harvest Power raises $15 million in Series C financing

   Organic waste recycler Harvest Power (Waltham, MA) announced that it has closed on a $15 million round of Series C financing led by investment banking firm Piper Jaffray (Minneapolis, MN) and joined by investment and advisory firms Tur Partners (Chicago, IL) and Industry Ventures (San Francisco, CA). Harvest said that it will use the funds to continue expanding its business, which is focused on using organic materials to generate energy and produce compost-based fertilizers. “Harvest is rapidly building an industry leadership position, extracting more value from the organics waste stream through the application of technology, capital, and superior operations,” said Thomas Schnettler, Co-CEO of PJC Capital Management LLC, an affiliate of Piper Jaffray. Harvest Power CEO Paul Sellew noted that his company has raised a total of $125 million in financing this year.
