AECOM JV wins $62.3 million water treatment job in RI

   A joint venture partnership led by AECOM Technology Corp. (Los Angeles, CA) has received a contract from the city of Newport, Rhode Island, to design and build the new Lawton Valley Water Treatment Plant and to implement upgrades at Rhode Island’s Station No. 1 water treatment plant in Newport. Under the contract, the AECOM joint venture team will deliver comprehensive design-build services for the two water treatment plants, including permitting, design, construction, start-up, and commissioning. For Station No. 1, the team will implement various upgrades to the existing 9 million gallon-per-day (mgd) plant. The 7 mgd Lawton Valley plant will be demolished and replaced with a new, compact building, the company said. The contract has a value of $62.3 million.
