B&W PPG wins APC contract for Colorado plant
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W; Charlotte, NC) announced that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group (B&W PPG) has received a contract from Xcel Energy (Minneapolis, MN) to install air pollution control (APC) equipment at the Pawnee Generating Station in Brush, Colorado. Under the contract, B&W PPG will design and install two spray dry absorber (SDA) units and associated equipment to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions from the 544 megawatt plant. The contract scope also calls for B&W PGG to supply atomizers, a reagent preparation system, and structural steel for the project, along with commissioning services.
