Tirex, WCH to partner in tire recycling
Tirex Corp. (Westport, CT) and Wyoming Corporate Headquarters LLC (WCH; West Columbia, SC) have formed a joint venture to pursue opportunities in the scrap-tire recycling market using Tirex’s patented TCS System technology. WCH, the majority owner of Altgen LLC (Evanston, IL), was recently awarded a state-wide license from the state of Tennessee giving Altgen the legal right to collect, store, and process used and rejected tires at its 100,000-square-foot leased facility in the Memphis area. Tirex and Altgen will install a TCS-2 system at the facility, with Quebec-based engineering and construction firm JECC serving as the fabrication and installation contractor. “Tennessee generates more than 45,000 tons of scrap tires annually, and we are negotiating, on a county-by-county basis, the collection and recycling fees it generates ranging from $50 to $90 per ton received at collection,” said WCH CEO Brooks Stanton.
