ITG wins contract to manage DOE’s AMWTP in Idaho
Idaho Treatment Group LLC (ITG), a consortium consisting of majority owner Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group, Inc. (B&W TSG), URS Corp., and EnergySolutions Federal Services, Inc., has received a contract from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to manage the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project (AMWTP) at DOE’s Idaho National Laboratory. The AMWTP retrieves, characterizes, treats, and packages transuranic wastes generated at the Idaho plant for shipment to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant near Carlsbad, New Mexico, for permanent disposal. ITG’s four small-business subcontractors on the project are Safety and Risk Analysis Consulting, Inc., Strategic Management Solutions, LLC, Visionary Solutions, LLC, and Cabrera Services, Inc. The contract has an estimated value of approximately $417 million over its lifetime, which extends from August 1, 2011, through September 30, 2015.
