Tetra Tech expands in Canada through purchase of BPR
Tetra Tech Inc. (Pasadena, CA) as acquired BPR, a Canadian science and engineering firm with more than 1,600 employees primarily serving the Quebec market. BPR provides multidisciplinary consulting and engineering services in support of water, energy, industrial, building, and infrastructure projects. It generated $170 million U.S. in revenue over the 12 months prior to the transaction. “Like Tetra Tech, BPR leads with science and focuses on complex water-related projects,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech’s chairman and CEO. “With the addition of BPR in eastern Canada, Tetra Tech now offers its Canadian clients complete coast to coast coverage.” He added that BPR has no geographic overlap with existing Tetra Tech operations in Canada. The deal is Tetra Tech’s third major acquisition in Canada, following the purchase of Wardrop Engineering in 2009 and EBA Engineering Consultants earlier this year.
