Veolia Water wins O&M contract for California city

Veolia Water North America (Chicago, IL) has received a major contract to operate and maintain a new state-of-the-art wastewater treatment facility serving the city of Hollister, California. Under the contract, which is valued at $688,000 per year over the initial 10-year term, Veolia Water will manage the 2.1 million gallon per day (mgd) membrane bioreactor (MBR) facility along with a large-scale water reclamation system. The company will also provide such associated services as grounds maintenance, water reuse and recycling, emergency response, odor control, computer management and maintenance, laboratory analysis, and management of the septic receiving station. The treatment process at the new plant consists of an influent lift station, preliminary treatment, activated sludge treatment, membrane separation, disinfection, water inventory management, and biosolids treatment.
