ITT Wins $32 Million Wastewater Treatment Contract in Qatar

ITT Corp. (New York, NY) has received a contract from Larsen & Toubro to provide wastewater treatment equipment for the Phase II extension of the Doha South Sewage Treatment Works in Qatar. Under the contract, ITT will design and supply eight of its Sanitaire sequence batch reactors (SBRs), which will increase the plant’s capacity by 92 million liters per day. ITT will also design and supply an ultrafiltration plant to treat wastewater for reuse in irrigation. Upon the completion of Phase II, the plant will have a total capacity to treat 187 million liters of wastewater per day, making it the largest wastewater treatment facility using SBRs combined with ultrafiltration in the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The value of the contract to ITT is $32 million.
