Description
Climate Change Business Journal Volume XIX, Numbers 4-5-6: Q2 2026 Transportation & Smart Cities 2026
Climate Change Business Journal presents its biannual detailed analysis of the transportation segment of the climate change industry, and a focus on Smart Cities and the planning, engineering and contractor service providers accelerating the movement, deploying technology and integrated systems to monitor, analyze, protect and operate critical infrastructure. Resilience and digitalization are key trends as clients and markets move from concept to implementation.
Since its founding in 2008, CCBJ has quantified the Transportation segment of the climate change industry with only modest adjustments in its 12 sub-segments in the annual quantitative market analysis summarized in this review. Climate change industry transportation segments add up to $250 billion in 2025 in the USA and $1.8 trillion worldwide, with electrified vehicles representing well over half in each region. The past two decades have demonstrated that there is no single pathway toward transportation decarbonization with wide variations by segment and region, as the major players of China, Europe and the USA accelerate market positions.
