Arcadis reports €3.4 billion in revenues in 2015

Arcadis (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) reported gross revenues up 30% to €3.4 billion for the full year 2015 while net revenues increased 29% to €2.6 billion, both as a result of the acquisitions of Hyder, Callison and Franz. Of the net revenue increase, 20% came from acquisitions while organic growth was essentially flat. The company had an 11% increase in net income from operations to €137 million. In Environment (25% of gross revenues), acquisition growth was 4%, but developments in North America drove an overall organic decline of -5%, and the company’s focus has been on protecting margins. “While the complex remediation market is slowing, we have launched our new approach in the market for simpler remediation and environmental business consulting,” the company stated. Strong infrastructure investments in the UK drove environmental impact assessment work. Continental Europe was essentially flat while in Brazil a severe slowdown in investment caused a strong decline in environmental planning. Water, which represents 13% of gross revenues, had 1% organic growth and 10% acquisitions growth driven by the addition of Hyder. Organic development originated mainly from North America in conveyance, program management, business advisory (consulting) and water for industry. Due to budget constraints of municipal water companies, Brazil experienced a strong decline.
