Veolia Water wins three O&M contracts in Japan

   Veolia Water (Paris, France) announced that it has been awarded operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts for wastewater treatment facilities and drinking water systems in three Japanese cities. Two of the contracts are four-year extensions of existing relationships under which Veolia Water is providing O&M services at wastewater treatment plants in Hiroshima and Kyoto. The other contract is a five-year engagement to provide O&M services for the drinking water system serving the city of Matsuyama. Veolia said that the combined contracts are expected to generate revenue totaling €49 million (about $65 million U.S.). Separately, Veolia Water announced that it has received a major contract to provide a 1,000 cubic meter per day effluent treatment plant to Trevali Mining Corp.’s Halfmile zinc-lead-silver-copper mine in New Brunswick, Canada.
